eVisas: check your UKVI account before travelling
UKVI stopped issuing visa stickers to successful new applicants on 1 July 2026. Check your digital record and travel-document details before travelling.

What changed
UKVI's published update says successful applicants for a visa to come to the UK receive an eVisa and that visa vignette stickers stopped being issued to successful new applicants on 1 July 2026. An eVisa is a digital immigration-status record. Moving an existing physical document to an eVisa does not itself change the person's permission or its conditions.
Before travelling, sign in to your UKVI account, view your eVisa and check your permission. Follow any separate instructions about collecting a form for accompanying an eVisa.
Practical account checks
Check that the account contains your current passport or travel-document details and contact information. GOV.UK warns that outdated details can cause travel or application delays.
The update service has limits: you cannot change your name or passport details while waiting for a visa decision. Incorrect immigration-status information should be reported through the eVisa error process linked from GOV.UK. Use UKVI's official support if access fails; an account update does not change your underlying permission.
